YouTube has geared up to compete with Netflix, Hulu and other major video streaming services with its new premium offering – YouTube Red. It is a subscription based service that costs 9.9 USD a month and has no ads. It also offers a music streaming service too. YouTube is now ready to offer original productions under YouTube Originals. Coming up soon are ‘A Trip to Unicorn Island’ which features Lilly Singh, a series starring Felix Kjellberg, and 2 other movies. Unlike Netflix, binge watching is not expected to come with YouTube Originals. YouTube is targeting a release of 15 to 25 original productions in this year.
