Facebook is reportedly starting to test mid-roll video ads on its platform so that publishers can monetize the videos they upload on Facebook. According to reports, the trial will allow publishers to place mid-rolls into video clips once a viewer has watched for at least 20 seconds.

Facebook is said to sell these ads and give publishers a 55% split of the resulting revenues. Facebook is aiming high towards becoming the “video first” business and in last one year, along with live streaming and 360-degree live video streaming, the social media giant has released new publishing and analytical tools to boost 360-degree videos and its Facebook Live service.
