According to an analysis conducted by Ampere, the average Facebook user will very soon be worth more than an average TV viewer. A study conducted by the research firm suggests that the average revenue per-user generated by Facebook advertising has increased six fold in North America and four-fold in Europe in the last five years.
An average viewer is responsible for advertising revenue amounting to anywhere between US$10 and US$11 each quarter. Facebook has an edge over TV advertising in the sense that it enables advertisers to watch out for the effectiveness of their online ad campaigns. This research places Facebook just behind Google, which is closest to TV on the ARPU. Google currently makes around US$7 per quarter for each monthly active user (MAU) from advertising on its sites vs Facebook that makes close to US$5 per MAU. Read More
