Future success of over-the-top video services can be attributed to right pricing, relevant content and apt user interface according to a panel of experts at the Next TV Summit.
Hulu and YouTube recently made an entry into the OTT Live Streaming world and priced at $40 and $35 per month respectively. This is less than half of the monthly charge for traditional TV which is typically priced at $80. According to Tim Connoly, Senior VP, Hulu, the service is spot on in terms of attracting audience by providing the service at low prices, a modern “this generation” user interface and a UI that has the ability to put together live TV, on demand, DVR and subscription VOD in one location and not in silos that force the viewer to look for content.
