Cord Cutting is a rage today. Not only because of the ‘cost cutting’ involved but also the unbundling it brings with it, allowing viewers to pay only for what they watch. But it appears the rosy days are over.

As per a new TDG Research study, the percentage of adult broadband users on the brink of cancelling their Pay-TV service has dipped 20% between early 2014-2015. Also the percentage of users just about to cancel their service has come down in the last 6 months, from 2.9% in 2014 to 1.4% in early 2015.

For the first time in 5 years, the cord-cutting metrics are down. About 7% of pay-TV subscribers are potential cord-cutters today but there has been a momentary decline of 5.7%.

While things don’t look good at all for OTT video services, it is safe to assume that pay-tv services will live to fight another day.
