India’s leading news network, India Today launched seven new digital video channels under the brand Mobile Tak (an extension of Aaj Tak), aiming to expand its digital footprint.

The company, through its new channels, will focus on video content and programming on seven categories, such as news, sports, technology, food, astrology, yoga, and life. A beta version of these channels has been running for more than a month now, and have been received well.

Kalli Purie, vice chairperson of the India Today group said, “We are doing 50 videos a day and we want to go up to 150 videos a day. We are producing as much content as a TV channel would. We are not taking content from our news channel. All the content is targeted and designed for mobile consumers.”
