Various CDN providers are used by OTT Platform providers as a way to improve global latency and service up-time. Video providers will allocate certain amounts of traffic to each CDN player in a multi-CDN approach. Rest of the traffic will be based on real-time performance which means the best performing CDN gets more traffic compared to others that are not performing well on a particular day.

According to Michael Milligan, senior director of product and solution marketing at Limelight Networks, the company has the capability to get a large amount of traffic from customers that have included a multi-CDN strategy. Read More
