Netflix is planning to introduce a “choose-your-own-adventure” feature which allows end users to influence the course of their favorite series. The feature is being tested out in select children’s titles available on Netflix. The company shall then experiment with these interactive elements in a selected range of programmes for adults.
Greg Peters from Netflix said, “We want to find out how interactivity functions with adults.”
Alternatively, Netflix could provide different users with various versions of a series.
Still, viewers of Netflix’s interactive children’s programs spent more time with a series if it had different outcomes. With this, viewers play an active role in shaping plot developments of their favorite series that takes personalization and user engagement to the next level.
