Video streaming distribution in India is taking up a significant market. Broadcasters are now eyeing OTT as a means to reach the end consumer directly. Most content providers have banked on YouTube to gain popularity before moving on to their own domains to keep 100% of the ad revenues. Some movies have also seen the OTT route. Fueled by the fact that every 2nd new phone in India is 4G capable, it is now expected that over 40 OTTs will launch in the next 2-3 years.
