According to reports, the number of people subscribing to OTT service (over the top) in US has increased by 868,000 in the second quarter of 2018. Currently, it has 6.73 million subs, up by some 119 percent year on year.

The report further states that Legacy Pay TV providers such as satellite, cable, and IPTV had nearly lost 973k subscribers in the second quarter. Total legacy pay TV subscribers went down to 87.05 million, down by 3.6 percent year on year in second quarter, 2018. Sling TV continues to lead the OTT segment, with 2.34 million subs at the end of Q2.
