The pandemic has shut all forms of entertainment avenues, but content consumption remains unhindered thanks to OTT platforms. Since the lockdown, OTTs are on the rise with a 71% surge in paid streaming services. 55% of online viewers prefer streaming on-demand content which is why OTT players such as Netflix and DisneyPlus are growing by the minute.

As per 2020 reports, Netflix witnessed a growth of 15.8 million subscribers and DisneyPlus expects to reach 230-260 million subscribers by 2024. Using SVOD models to view on-demand content is also being appreciated as 67% of online viewers claimed to continue their current subscriptions.
