Amazon Prime is reportedly considering to roll out a new video service that would be completely free and will be backed by an Ad-supported revenue model.  The service will be outside of the Prime Video umbrella and subscribers will be able to access both the libraries in two different apps.

Amazon is reportedly in talks with TV networks, movie studios, and other media companies about providing programming to this AVOD service.

Amazon has experimented with advertising on its Prime video service only on Amazon’s original programming, and not on third-party content. The company, strategizing to offer a completely free version of Prime video content would be an interesting approach.
