Amazon streaming WTA women tennis tournaments

In an effort to feature live sports content, Amazon Prime Video inks a deal with Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for showcasing top tennis tournaments. The four-year distribution deal will kick off in 2020 and only the prime video members in Ireland and the UK will have access to the live content at no extra cost.

As per the deal, the subscribers will be able to stream upto 2000 live and on-demand tennis tournament throughout the year. Earlier, Amazon bought the sports live streaming rights of popular men’s tennis tournament for the UK and Ireland viewers.

Commenting on the agreement, European MD of Sport at Amazon Prime Video, Mr. Alex Green, commented: “We are excited to be the home of tennis and will offer viewers the most comprehensive coverage, at no extra cost to their Prime membership.”
