According to a new report by Fluent, Apple Music is the least popular streaming music across the U.S, ranking below YouTube, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Google Play Music, Spotify and Amazon Prime music.
One of the most obvious reasons for this is that the top services offer a free, ad-supported tier. Most people will prefer a free service over a subscription based one.
Even though Apple Music has had an Android app, it is still being marketed heavily to owners of Apple devices which condenses its target market size vis-a-vis other services that are available across web, PC and mobile.
However, Apple is more popular amongst millennials (25-34) and Gen Z (18-24).
