France Televisions has launched “Slash”, a digital-only TV service meant to attract an audience aged 18-30 years.  The public broadcaster also plans to launch an SVOD service soon.

Slash, the new digital-only platform will be offered both on the site of france.tv and across social networks such as Facebook, Snap, Twitter, and YouTube etc. Also in a related development, Arkena has been selected by France Televisions for the transcoding of its upcoming SVOD service.

Tiphaine de Raguenel, director of youth activities at France TV quoted, “For this project, france TV is inspired by online-only BBC Three. We want France Télévisions to be part of the daily lives of young people. Every day, nearly one in three 15-34-year-olds watch France TV channels. The aim is to increase this.”
