American premium cable and satellite television network, HBO is all set to launch its over-the-top service in Portugal in the first quarter of 2019. With the launch, HBO will be in competition with video streaming giant Netflix, which operates mobile streaming service in Portugal through Vodafone.
With more than 135 million subscribers globally, HBO leads Netflix on global subs footprint. John Stankey, AT&T, WarnerMedia CEO has made no secret in expressing his desire to expand HBO’s worldwide reach.
