According to a recent report from August 2016, over 80% of internet users in Brazil use YouTube to watch their favorite video on demand content online. Whereas, Netflix was used by 71% respondents in the same duration. Also, one in two of these surveyed said that they watched movies by Globo on TV, a Brazilian media conglomerate, which leads video streaming services from Google Play, Amazon and iTunes.
These figures are definitely higher from US figures on these services. A survey from January 2016 revealed that 46% of US internet users not only watch Netflix but also like paying for the subscription. However, weekly viewing habits of Brazilians were also higher than their US counterparts in an other survey.
