Young Germans consume more VOD than Traditional TV

According to a recent research by TNS Infratest, young population in Germany aged 14-19 and 20-29, consume more VOD services than traditional TV. The percentage of VOD service consumption among these age groups was at 41% and 34% respectively. YouTube and video on demand services from TV channels drive more consumption standing at % among those above 14.

Amazon Prime and Netflix are consumed by a fifth of Germans and almost 46.4% of those aged 14-29. Amazon Prime’s number of users increased by 50% in Germany over last one year, whereas Netflix experienced an increase of 150%. HDTV gained just 5% compared to its consumption last year.
