Showmax, the South-African video-on-demand service starts streaming of sports content that includes SuperSport Rugby Challenge matches and the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. The trial bunch of sports streaming is priced at R99 (US $15).
CEO Niclas Ekdahl Commented: “We’ve been delivering TV series and movies for almost four years and continue to see strong growth in usage. Sport is the obvious next target and the only way to do that properly is to be able to stream it live.”
