Cord cutting is real. Viacom is gearing up to fight against it by investing in ‘TV everywhere’. Viacom Play Plex having MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and other popular channels is the answer of the network for the competition. Pay TV constitutes of 40% of the traffic in US. Viacom’s new strategy to adapt content for all distribution channels, considering the popularity of mobile viewing, smart TV access and other OTT platforms. Linear TV is expected to start declining this year, while online video is set to grow around 35%. Video consumption on mobile devices will lead this change.
