Over-the-top (OTT) service providers in Brazil have formed an association named as Abott which is first of its kind in Latin America region. Although the association currently features local audio and video content segments, online streaming giants such as Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime are yet to join.
The association’s primary objective is to represent their interest before Brazil’s government and Congress. The association had its first meeting in São Paulo wherein rising issues such as taxes, piracy, equal and fair usage of telecom backbone network etc. were on the agenda.
