AT&T loses Subs

AT&T saw a decline of 351,000 “traditional” video subs in Q2 due to “seasonality and elevated competition” with a decline of 156,000 DirecTV satellite subs and 195,000 IPTV customers in the period.
At the end of Q2, DirecTV Now had almost 500,000 subs.

At the end of quarter, AT&T had about 25.2 million video subs.
There were 152,000 additions in Q2 2017 for DirecTV Now which surpassed 72,000 additions in Q1 2017 however it’s lower than the additions of 267,000 in Q4 2016.

DirectTV aims to continue to grow with addition of DVR capabilities and other features that are being included based on customer feedback.
