A new video streaming service for consumers that want a cheaper alternative compared to a traditional cable TV package is being tested by Cable provider Charter Communications.

Spectrum Stream which belongs to Charter is being tested with a group of its current internet customers to know if the smaller package rings a bell with a certain segment of non-video customers.
Local broadcast channels and 25 cable networks as well as options for more news, sports and premium channels are to be included in this streaming service which can be streamed on mobile devices and does not require a set-top box.
Slimmed down bundles are being launched by cable companies as more consumers choose to cut the cord as an alternative to streaming alternatives that are available for a lot lower. Read More
