Following Facebook, Twitter also allows live 360-degree video streaming on its Periscope platform, with an immediate effect. Users can already watch the first ever 360-degree video on Periscope, but only “select partners” will be able to stream 360 degrees at launch.
On the desktop, users can simply click and drag around on the screen to rotate the camera, and on mobile, they can twist and turn the phone to change the perspective. Periscope stated it is testing 360-degree streams with a “small group of partners.” It didn’t yet disclose the wider roll-out plans.
