According to a recent report by Futuresource Consulting, UHD TV shipments are forecasted to account for 25% of all TV shipments in this year, reflecting a 75% growth year on year. The report expects UHD TV units to account for 60% of all TV shipments by 2020.
Smart TVs are expected to account for 59% of the total shipments in 2016 and Smart TVs will also be the feature shipped in three out of every four sets by 2020. The research also forecasted the total TV shipments to account for US$86 billion this year, representing 225 million units being shipped globally.
