Social media giant Facebook is launching a new platform called Watch for video and TV shows across its network
Watch will be available on mobile, desktop and laptop and in TV apps as well. It will also include another new feature called Shows.
Sets of live or recorded episodes can be created by content creators that follow a theme or a storyline. People’s reactions and comments to a video are very much part of the experience as the video itself.
Community oriented and episodic video series are also funded by Facebook.
Facebook will be introducing Watch to a sample group of people in the US, subsequently expanding from there. Similarly Shows will be opening up to a limited group of creators at first in Share2.
