According to a report, social network major LinkedIn is considering a move into original programming. Being a social media service aimed at business professionals, that primarily acts as a networking platform, this would be a diversification to an unrelated business for the company.
During a discussion at The Information’s Subscriber Summit in San Francisco, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner said that the move would boost engagement and drive subscriptions. Jeff assessed shows such as Shark Tank that could be the kind of content LinkedIn users would be interested in.
