In an attempt to entice low-income Walmart shoppers, Amazon prime (video streaming service) monthly membership is being offered at a discounted rate for people who are given government assistance.

So anyone with a valid electronic benefits card or food stamps will only have to pay $5.99 a month for a year. The typical Prime membership is $99 a year, though people have the option to pay $10.99 a month.
