According to Digital TV Research, The video on demand services in Asia-Pacific is expected to have 157.78 million paying viewers by 2021, half of which is located in China. VOD subscribers in China are expected to reach from 41.68 million in 2015 to 76.12 million by the end of 2016 and 100 million the next year.

The rapid growth of smartphone-based subscriptions will led china to account for 47% of SVOD share in the 2021. The research predicts for 34 million additional customers to sign up for SVOD services in China, 15 million from India and 9 million from Japan.
