Omantel customers can use mobile credit to access Shahid Plus

Omantel, the first telecom provider in Oman has announced its partnership with MBC Group. With this partnership, Omantel customers can subscribe to Shahid Plus service by using their mobile credit. Shahid Plus which is a popular VOD service in the Arab world will be available to Omantel postpaid and prepaid customers.

Shahid Plus which has an ad-free subscription model has carved a niche among the audience for uninterrupted viewing. Through this partnership, customers will have the option of having the service fee directly charged to their monthly post-paid bills or debited from their prepaid accounts.

Fadel Zahreddine, group director of Brand Management and Digital Businesses, MBC Group, quoted, “It’s a privilege to be partnering with the leading telecommunications company in the sultanate. The speed and sophistication of the network provided by Omantel mean that viewers in Oman are able to experience audiovisual content at industry-leading levels of quality. In 2017, our companies announced the intention to work together, and within a couple of months, our combined teams were able to successfully launch our premium Video service Shahid Plus for Omantel customers.”

Recently, Shahid Plus was in the news when Shahid VOD app was officially recognized as one of the App Store’s #Bestof2017 apps in MENA by Apple.
