Dish Network-owned OTT platform Sling TV registered 2.2 million subscribers in 2017. This is for the first time that Dish has disclosed its customer count and also it claimed to have registered 11.03 million customers during the year. The Sling TV numbers followed a not-so-impressive fourth quarter of Dish which witnessed revenue reducing down 7.2% to $3.48 billion from $3.75 billion in the previous year.
Revealing the subscriber’s count has become quite a trend with HBO and CBS All Access claiming to have more than 5 million customers each under their belt with CBS All Access is optimistic about reaching 8 million subscriber count by 2020.
