Swedish audio streaming giant, Spotify is prepping up to launch its services in India which is home to 1.3 billion people. Spotify is hoping that the global music-streaming service will be a great success in India due to their musical culture.

Spotify CEO, Daniel Ek quoted that they are “working on launching in some of the biggest markets in the world, including India, Russia, and Africa, which has a very rich musical culture.” Earlier this month, Spotify had revealed about having a lease office space in Mumbai.

Spotify’s attention towards India comes at a time when Amazon Music has just launched its services. Even though Spotify is yet to launch its services, the brand is more recognizable than its competitor, Apple Music, in the country.
