Swedish audio streaming giant Spotify has expanded its footprint to Israel, Romania, South Africa, and Vietnam. The expansion has come just ahead of Spotify’s public enlisting in New York stock exchange.

Expansion to the above-mentioned countries takes Spotify’s global tally to 65 markets. The music streaming giant’s counterparts such as Deezer (189 countries) and Apple Music (115 countries) although have better global penetration, Spotify stands tall as the largest music streaming service with subscriber base nearly 159 million including 71 million premium subscribers under its belt.

Cecilia Qvist, Global Head of Markets at Spotify, quoted, “We’re really excited to bring Spotify to Israel, Romania, South Africa, and Vietnam, connecting their rich music cultures with millions of artists and users across the world.”
