Universal Music expands into Africa with music streaming service Boomplay

Universal Music Group becomes the first major music company to license its catalog to Boomplay, a leading music streaming service provider. Under this strategic partnership, Boomplay will add tracks from UMG labels to its current catalog of over two million songs, providing service to 36 million plus users in Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and Uganda. The Boomplay app is currently available on Android and will soon get an iOS version.
