Muvi Streaming Landscape Year in Review for 2019

As 2019 winds down, it’s time to look back upon the accomplishments Muvi has made in the past 12 months, and it’s pretty incredible to think about all that we have achieved! 2019 has been an exciting year for all of us- we launched a range of innovative products in the streaming market and made important investments to accelerate growth and provide value to our loyal customers.

So, as this jam-packed 365-days is coming to an end, it’s a good time to catch up on something you might have missed. As you grab your favorite cuppa, here is the glimpse of 2019 through the lens of Muvi.

January

Muvi released Alie, an AI-driven Recommendation Engine for any online business, blogging platform, and websites. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, Alie uses machine learning and deep learning algorithms to capture and analyze user data and recommend personalized content in real-time with impeccable accuracy.

Alie was the first AI product of the company and relatably, Anshuman Das, CEO of Muvi was elated about it, “A recommendation engine’s competition should always be with accuracy and nobody else. Packed with features, the initial reports about Alie are turning out to be overwhelming. Just the way we thought!”

February

In February, our customers’ wish of enabling in-app purchase for their respective OTT platforms became a reality. In-app purchase feature, apart from enabling a convenient shopping experience, also allows purchase options for both subscription-based contents as well as transactional or Pay-Per-View (PPV) content.

March

At the end of March, Muvi announced its advanced >2x faster encoding service. Muvi’s encoding infrastructure automatically scales on-demand to meet encoding needs of Muvi customers on the fly making encoding queue-woes a thing of the past! So, any number of videos uploaded and mapped, would start encoding instantly ensuring timely and optimal content delivery while streaming to multiple supported devices.

April

Sanjh - the world’s first Blockchain-powered digital content marketplace

Apart from attending NAB Show Vegas, April was a super-exciting month for Muvi as our dream of launching Sanjh the world’s first Blockchain-powered digital content marketplace came true! Sanjh is a decentralized content marketplace that allows customers to sell media content sans any middleman with the added security of Blockchain technology directly reaching thousands of store owners in minutes! Ever since its inception, a lot of customers have listed their content on Sanjh and have praised the blockchain-powered marketplace for its simplicity in selling secured digital content licenses.

June

Back in mid-June, Muvi launched its zero-coding E-learning solution. Muvi’s E-learning extension enables customers to start their own E-learning channel instantly without any knowledge of coding or support of an IT team.

Equipped with out-of-the-box features and built on a highly scalable architecture, Muvi E-learning, allows customers to train their users with DRM-supported interactive multimedia content, earning revenue from Day One.

July

July was again an eventful month as Muvi expanded its smart TV reach to one of the world’s most popular TV platforms- Vewd TV app platform that allows customers to join the smartest streaming ecosystem by launching instantly deployable and fully customizable white-labeled Vewd TV apps. Muvi-powered Vewd TV app supports Vewd OS 4.0 with native HTML5 video player, multi-language extension, TV remote support, simple user registration & login, and advanced search & filter functionality for optimal streaming comfort.

August

August kept us busy for the right reasons- Muvi rolled out not one but two unique product releases- XBOX streaming app and One Player.

  • Starting with XBOX– Muvi-powered XBOX streaming app allows our customers to feature on the entire Xbox streaming ecosystem including XBOX, XBOX 360, XBOX One, XBOX One S and XBOX One X instantly and start streaming to the 65 million Xbox users! The XBOX app development boasts a native Xbox video player with in-built multi-language support for comfortable viewing.

  • One Player– “Fun yet Powerful” One Player, one of the biggest releases of Muvi, is a result of constant overhauling of Muvi’s powerful online video player! Our out-of-box One Player feature allows our customers’ end-users to switch from video to audio or audio to video mode on one tap without missing a fraction of a beat!

November

It was a proud moment for us when Muvi was announced as “Runners-Up” in the prestigious Streaming Media Europe Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 in the category Mobile Video App or Solution. We take this opportunity to thank everyone for voting and contributing to the success of Muvi and helping us in achieving this milestone.

December

fully-managed zero-coding podcasting solution by Muvi

The last month of the year has been no less eventful! We unveiled one of our biggest offerings earlier this month – Podcast. Muvi released its fully-managed zero-coding podcasting solution that enables customers to launch their podcasts and publish on multiple platforms such as Apple podcast, Google podcast, Spotify and Alexa at zero upfront investment. From bulk uploading multipart content, flexible monetization options to limitless customizations, Muvi Podcast boasts an array of powerful features that bring your podcast vision to life.

Muvi has another interesting feature up its sleeve and we are excited to introduce it by the end of this year – Video Cards! With Video Cards, customers can conduct live polls on their content, engage the audience, and check the results instantly using analytics. Video Cards are a great tool for driving interactivity and customer engagement while promoting a company’s brand throughout.

Major Events Muvi Attended in 2019

Muvi - OTT Events and Awards of 2019

Muvi attended 4 major conferences this year, starting with NAB Vegas from 6 – 11 April at Las Vegas Convention center. As we all know, NABSHOW is the ultimate media, entertainment, and technology event and Muvi was a proud participant. This year’s NAB Vegas edition was particularly special as it turned out to be the host for some amazing business deals.

The same legacy continued when we participated in BroadcastAsia Singapore from 18 – 20 June 2019. Muvi displayed its highly customizable platform to all the tech & media enthusiasts who made it a point to visit the most talked-about annual technology convention in Asia-Pacific.

From 13 – 17 September, we attended the IBC Amsterdam, one of the most prestigious business and technology meet in the world. We displayed our instantly deployable streaming platform to all our visitors and talked about our simple and hassle-free migration policy which, needless to say, is one of our strong points.

We wrapped up 2019 with NAB New York which took place between 16 – 17 October. While the footfall was unbelievable for a 2-day event, we were ecstatic about the strong word-of-mouth spreading around about the benefits of an end-to-end streaming platform devoid of any multi-vendor complexities. Also, we met a few of our customers who shared their success story and future plans with us.

What to expect in 2020?

Lots of new products. More features. A few surprises.

Standing tall among the able competitors, we are awaiting a handful of products and features to be released, that will make things even simpler going forward. We plan to strongly counter some long-standing industry problems through advanced engineering in 2020 for which the initial work has already been started. Stay tuned to this space to never miss an update.
