A report by European Audiovisual Observatory for the European Commission analyzed data from 75 different video-on-demand (VoD) services and 16 subscription VoD online services. It was found out that 27% of all the films available on video-on-demand in Europe are European films. Compared to that, the number is 59% for US films. 30% of films available on SVoD across Europe are European films.
Popularity and available of regional films on VOD and SVOD is dependent on the local production rates of each country, and content providers adopt the taste and demand of the individual countries while offering their content.
