Jayadeep Subhashis Published on : 17 January 2018

After hinting the launch of Prime Music in India for months, Amazon has formally announced its partnership with Zee Music. However, the exact date of launch for the streaming service and the financial aspect of the deal is under wrap.

Amazon Prime members can avail the new service at no additional cost and moreover, the service will be ad-free.

Amazon Prime Music which has a dedicated app, through this deal, will boast 450 film soundtracks in Hindi and other regional languages along with content from 250 independent artists.

In India, the leading music streaming companies have more than 50 million subscribers each, and entry of Amazon has increased the competition significantly. Currently, Amazon Prime Music largely competes with Times Internet’s Gaana, Saavn, Apple Music, Hungama, Airtel’s Wynk etc.
