As per a recent survey report, Astro Go, the homegrown OTT brand, tops the list of video streaming companies in Malaysia. The list includes Netflix in the second place, followed by Google Play, Unifi TV and iFlix.
Astro Go captures a market share of 77% in the Malaysian Pay TV category, and hence its digital streaming service is made available to all the registered users. Probably, this is the primary reason, why Astro Go is the no. 1 paid video streaming service in the competitive Malaysian OTT market.
Currently, the brand has more than 2.2 million registered subscribers with an average play-hour of 149 minutes per week. Also, it’s on-demand library has over 48,000 blockbuster titles from regions like Korea, Japan, India, HongKong, Hollywood, and China.
