DirecTV Now has built a beta app with a list of improvements that the streaming platform has undergone at the AT&T laboratory. Among one of the major improvements, is better streaming quality which includes a resolution of 1080p playing at 60 frames per second (fps) using the H.265 video format.

Among other features that DirecTV Now is improving is on are cloud-based DVR to record content, download-and-go option, 4K and HD quality video, individual profiles, concurrent streams, etc. However, the upgrade to 60fps from 30fps is the most notable one as twice the frames per second will offer a smoother streaming experience, especially for faster moving images such as sports or action content.
