According to a recent ABI Research forecast, revenues from live linear OTT video services is expected to grow at some $7 billion dollars of the worldwide revenue by 2021, from just a little more than $1 billion in 2016.
With OTT competition increasing in mature pay-TV markets significantly, service providers are decreasing their marketing on cable, satellite, and IPTV products in favor of new products that use OTT technologies to compete with Amazon and Netflix.
