VOD is 20% cheaper than YouTube: Channel 4 study

According to a recent research by Channel 4, effective cost per thousand views on broadcaster VOD platforms is far cheaper than the equivalent cost for YouTube or Facebook. The true cost of  broadcaster VOD services is in fact just a third of the cost of Facebook.

The research also found out that the broadcaster video on demand OTT platforms have greater engagement levels, 3.5 times higher than YouTube. Out of the total time spent watching YouTube content, 73% of the times a user hides the view treating it as a background audio. And out of 30 hours of Facebook usage, only three commercial video ads were viewed longer than three seconds.
