At the recent Airlines Passenger Experience (APEX) Expo held in California, Netflix announced that it is launching Netflix Inflight 2.0. Netflix is optimising bandwidth consumption for this service, so passengers can stream on their devices at a cost that the airlines can afford.

By partnering with airlines, Netflix will be able to support and promote certain in-flight services as a core offering rather than sticking it on some kind of premium tier. But as more and more passengers tend to use their own devices for in-flight entertainment, they wouldn’t mind continuing their latest Netflix binge.
