OTT streaming video subscribers to pass 100 million in 2015

The number of subscribers to ‘over-the-topvideo on demand services is expected to pass 100 million worldwide this year, according to forecasts from Ovum. The growing number of direct-to-consumer services, such as the recently launched HBO Now and Sling TV as well as more linear service like Playstation Vue, will further drive subscribers numbers to reach an estimated 177 million by 2019, the market researcher expects.
