Berlin-based music streamer, SoundCloud begins to offer its data analytics for artists, offering up more insights around playlist activity.

Artists can now have answers to questions such as who are adding songs to playlists? how many listens are coming from those playlists? etc.

New CEO Kerry Trainor, who replaced SoundCloud co-founder Alex Ljung as chief executive in August, shifts his focus towards artist rights and privileges.  The new leadership will turn its attention to the company’s business model and driving subscriptions in due time, but right now it has a bigger priority: keeping artists and creators as happy as possible.

The mostly free SoundCloud has been slow to grow its on-demand subscriptions amidst tough competition from Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and others.
