According to a new Digital TV Research forecast, the number of homes worldwide with subscription OTT services are expected to reach 428 million by 2020. Revenues from subscription video on demand (SVOD) services will be 18 times higher than in 2010, reaching $32.18 billion.
The research also highlighted following:
● The U.S. and China to be the largest markets with 127 million and 74 million subscribers in 2021
● In 2016, video on demand service sales surpassed DVD sales
● Millennials favor video streaming more than other groups
