Sydney Opera House confirmed the news of launching an online streaming platform, ‘Stream’ to continue displaying performing and digital arts. The art center which was closed due to the pandemic came into the limelight with their decision to stream virtual performances in real-time. There will be both a freemium and rented model available to access Stream.
Stuart Buchanan, House Head of Digital Programming at Sydney Opera House stated, ‘’With Stream we have created a space that is accessible for all audiences anywhere in the world as well as local patrons who cannot visit theaters in-person. ‘’
