Telcos in the country have reiterated their readiness to embrace OTT calls to optimize their operations in the country. Speaking at forum organized by the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) to discuss OTT calls, the Chief Executive Officer of the Telecoms Chamber, Kwaku Sakyi-Addo stated that there is no organization or company in Ghana advocating for a ban of OTT calls.

He said, “The key point is there is no contemplating on the part of the NCA to ban OTT. Telcos recognize OTT as a moving train. Nobody is trying to stop a moving train.” He also clarified that there has not been any conversation or initiation by any organization or telco to ban OTT.
