4 out of 5 connected homes in LATAM access OTT video

A recent report from Business Bureau has revealed that 77% of connected households in Latin America regularly use (Over the Top) OTT platforms.

The report titled New Media Essentials in its fourth edition revealed that around 50% view on a notebook, around 33% use a smartphone, 31% use a smart TV, and 21% use a tablet. Internet penetration in the Latin American region has been estimated at around 60%, and this has been the primary factor driving the usage.

Netflix is the most subscribed paid SVOD service, with a 38% market share, followed by América Móvil’s Claro video at 10% market share, and Baby TV(Kids OTT) at 4% market share.
