According to a research by CSG Systems International, 80% of video streaming users have a subscription to at the least one video streaming service plus Pay TV from cable, satellite or IPTV provider. Around 79% of them view video streaming on their TV. The younger population prefers streaming video instead of watching traditional linear TV. 20% are considering to switch, downgrade their plans (cord shaving), or cut the cord of their Pay TV services in the coming 6 months. Centralized search, recommendations, billing and discounts were valued most by around half the viewers. Hence OTT like features and skinny are high on demand for Pay TV. Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime are most accessed video streaming services.
