According to a recent Roy Morgan Research, half of Australians now use paid television options, be it some extra channels to their linear TV or online streaming on demand or using a Connected TV, subscription VOD platforms have just overtook Foxtel’s Pay TV market.

In just six months to August 2016, 9.8 million Australians, which is 50% of the population has access to one or more paid TV services in their homes. 60% of these subscribers rely on Netflix, however, other services such as Stan, Quickflix, Presto, recently launched YouTube Red, and Foxtel’s own SVOD Foxtel Play can also be found in the homes of 1.4 million Australians.
